Mercedes-Benz discontinued injection molding for specific interior trim clips due to decreased demand. The client needed to reproduce low volumes of these parts using 3D printing for their classic car models.
Our approach
Using the last remaining new OEM part as a reference, we reverse-engineered and improved the design. The updated design and selected material provide the new clips with an extended lifespan compared to the originals.
