Mercedes-Benz sought to reproduce a low volume of windshield washer fittings for classic cars, as internal production of these OEM components had been phased out due to low demand. A critical requirement was ensuring the 3D-printed parts could withstand repeated exposure to washer fluid.
Our approach
We reverse-engineered an original OEM part to ensure functionality and optimize it for 3D printing. After testing various materials for proper fit and chemical resistance, we selected Carbon's EPX 82 for its mechanical properties and chemical compatibility. Over the past five years, we have successfully produced multiple batches of this part.
